Me make comeback one day

Dear Sticky Notes reader,

I know it’s been a while since my last post and also a while since I last made this a regular thing. Forgive me for that as my FOMO has kept me running around enough to lose track of my writing. A few amongst you urged me to get back into it and I ashamedly agreed I should do without actually doing anything about it. It’s not that I just procrastinated (although I did finish Breaking Bad, OITNB and have almost managed to re-watch 9 seasons of the X-Files, any minute now!).

It’s just that so many things happened in a short space of time and I needed time to process and distil them into something I can take a sip of that doesn’t make me drunk and crazy like absinthe. Maybe one day I can tell you all about it.

If you’re wondering what’s been going on in my life, I can give you the gist of it:

  • I’m still a Londoner – most of the times still in love with my city. Apart from when I visit Athens and going out seems effortless and fun and going on until early in the morning and I forget that I’m actually in my thirties.

  • Yes, that’s number 2 I guess. It’s been a few months now that I’ve been getting accustomed to the numbers 3 and 0. Most of it has been fun so far and it’s probably partly because I softened the blow with a good bit of travelling at the time.

  • And that brings me nicely to #3 (not hashtag 3, FYI), which is travelling – if I can really call it that. The past couple of years have been great for my air miles – although not so great for my savings account… If you’ve been following my Instagram account (@greekstreet), you might have seen some of my travel snaps. If you haven’t, well, you’re in luck.

One of the reasons I decided it was time to get back into this was because I had so much to share from my trips that it was a shame to keep it all to myself. Now, if you’re expecting any off-the-beaten path tips, feel free to unsubscribe pronto as I should caveat from the start that I’m still in full-time employment with a limited holiday allowance. As I’m sure is the case for many of you out there. That’s why having a handful of good places to visit and things to do are so important when short on time. Expect #foodporn, #instaworld_shots and hopefully some #wanderlust. There will be other types of posts as well (with any luck!) so don’t expect this to turn into a travel only blog. I hope you’ll like it! Feel free to leave your comments and suggestions going forward – this is obviously work in progress!

PS: If you have really been following this blog (mum, this doesn’t include you), you will remember that I was challenged by a lack of steering skills. I can happily announce I can now not only ride a bicycle but am in possession of a clean driving license and I can’t wait to put it to good use.
