About a girl

What should you know about me?

I was born in Athens in the mid-80s. When I was about 9 years old I wanted to become an interpreter for a sports team; at 12 I wanted to be an archaeologist. At the age of 14, I thought studying pre-Columbian civilisations was the way to go and at 16 I was sure I’d be a fine psychologist. At 17 I thought I should give biology a try but decided to go to Law School instead. After 5 and a half years and a degree later, I thought it was time to leave all that behind and give the media industry a go.

6 months as an editorial assistant for a lifestyle magazine in Athens (and gracing its cover holding a sprig of rosemary), 1 year doing a masters on media at Warwick University, 9 months of unpaid internships in London (shocker, I know), followed by about 7 years working in communications & becoming increasingly fascinated by digital media. During this time, I became a proper Londoner – I learned to avoid eye contact on the tube, say ‘thank you’ about a gazillion times every time a plate / fork / napkin arrived during dinner at a restaurant, silently complained about people on the wrong side of the escalator rolling my eyes, ate overpriced (but delicious!) street food and drank Aperol Spritz on London rooftop bars at the first sign of sunshine. Somehow I decided to leave all that behind me (maybe for a while, maybe for a longer while, who knows?) and start a new life in Asia with my SO (yes, that happened too!).

If you’re new to this blog, good luck finding a solid theme going through my past posts. Currently, I’m writing about my new adventures and hope to start sharing tips from my travels, while I start to explore Southeast Asia.

You’re certainly invited to sneak a peek. Be sure to leave your comments.

  • Hi Nikos,

    Thanks for your comment!

I admit I’m puzzled by it though. 🙂 What could you use in staff meetings at work?
